Your alarm goes off.  What do you feel?  Immediate dread as you desperately search for the snooze button?  Or do you pop out of bed full of energy?  Either way, after hours of lying in bed, your shoulders shrug and round forward as if trying to pull you back into that warm, pillowy mass of comfort.  Your mind is already spinning with thoughts about your day, so you resist the temptation.  Your back and thighs yell good-morning as you put on your socks and shoes.  Your muscles ache.  You feel creaky.  As you eat your breakfast on the go you realize your jaw hurts.  You must have been grinding your teeth in your sleep.  Why do you carry all of this tension in your body?

Inspirational stuff this weekend at the battle of London!

Battle of London, BOL14

Managed to get down to the BOL at the Copperbox on the Olympic site yesterday to shout at Coach Geoff who was representing our CrossFit Hackney box! Geoff was looking good going in to masters day two in 10th place but was scuppered by a nasty ankle injury!

Nnnaaaooo!

Great effort though!

Anyway it was a great event and there were some proper athletes competing! Nice to chat to some old faces and some new ones.

Complimentary Marathon Preparation Evening with Complete Health and Wellbeing!

Hi all! If you are running any marathon distances this year, well worth popping along…

Following the success of last January’s Pre-Marathon event, Complete Health and Wellbeing are hosting another free information evening to prepare your body and mind for the gruelling 26.2 miles.

Join Sports Physio, Chris Myers and the Complete Physio Team for an evening of Marathon Preparation. The evening will be packed with insight, experience and education which will aid novice runners through to regular Marathon competitors.

The topics being discussed are:

  • Injury Prevention with Physiotherapist Chris Myers
  • Marathon Training Plans with Personal Trainer Ben Leach
  • Optimum Nutrition with Nutritionist Marc Adams
  • How to Train Your Brain for Success with Hypnotherapist Phil Dobson
  • How to Use Mental Rehearsals to Improve Performance with Hypnotherapist Phil Dobson

The event is totally free and will be held on Wednesday 15th January 2015 at 6pm on the 28th Floor of The CityPoint building.

Hackney Hustle – Bring one bring all CrossFit Competition!

Friday nights, they is a-changing.  No more pub, kebab and a bit of a razzle on the way home. Or at least not til after you’ve popped on down to CrossFit Hackney to smash out a WOD-off at our new Hackney Hustle competition.

Simple, friendly and fun, CrossFit Hackney are hosting a series of a one-in-all-in competitions, starting on Friday 21st February 2014.

All you need to know:

Any CrossFitter from anywhere is welcome to come and join the fun.

The evening will include 2 WODs (announced upon arrival).

Turn up from 6.30pm for 7.00pm start, max duration 2hrs.

Cost £10 to enter (pay on the night).

Trophy for the winner to hold… well until next time. Free entry to the next event for the winner.

Following this we will hold events every 6 weeks:
